Meet a VC Intern: Blair Black

Meet Blair Black, our UCLA Mellon MLIS Graduate Intern!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Blair! I’m a L.A. native in my second year of the Masters Library Information Science (MLIS) program at UCLA with a specialization in (Media) Archival Studies. I’m a dance music enthusiast at heart so I love any excuse to talk about music.

How did you hear about Visual Communications and what drew you to apply?

I heard about VC through UCLA’s Center for Preservation of Audiovisual Heritage! I was lucky enough to help out with a digitization project.

What did you gain from this internship?

A new community of insanely talented, gracious, and professional colleagues! VC is truly like a family that pushes you to go out of your comfort zone and create something lasting. Not only was I able to strengthen my digital archival expertise, I was also able to hone my project management skills and media industry knowledge.
